Most Israelis support a two state solution if it will bring peace.
That's a big if, you will agree.
There is a view among some that the Fatah wont negotiate because some of them believe war is inevitable and even desireable....

Well actually the Palestinians think Israel regards war as the answer as it means they will never have to agree to. Palestinian state and it would be a good reason not to end the Occupation!
Seems we need to convince both sides that war is not the answer - ever!
Actually a group of Fatah leaders have announced that are withdrawing support for a two state solution in favour of one state for all.

I think you'll agree Jackie, that's a big if.
The Palesinians need to come back to the table and talk
if they want U.S. support, which is crucial for them.
Their refusal makes it hard for Obama, who is trying
to be Solomon, to move the process forward.

What does that mean? What "one state"? A State of Palestine where Arabs and Jews live together? That's already in place and it is called Israel.

Israel is on a war path ever since its formal inception in 1948. National defense is the answer, yes, because of constant Arab aggression. It is not Israel that chose war with the Arabs but the Arabs with Israel. So, don't talk about war being Israel's only answer when your beloved Arabs are aggressing Jews every day of their existence, if not by shooting rockets from Gaza on southern Israel, then by acts of terrorism wherever and whenever they can, or through constant aggression from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. What wrong did Israel do to Hezbollah? Who is Hezbollah and what cause are they defending, Palestinian or Islamic? War is definitly not the answer, however, the arms merchants,
the people the last honest Republican president, Eisenhower, warned us
about, LOVE war, as long as its fought by those Romney
called "the bums, the 47 percent of Americans who aren't
wealthy."

That repulsive man Donald Rumsfeld has just been interviewed on Sky.
HE thinks war is just for the winning and unlike the Brits, he didn't think winning hearts and minds was part of the exercise. Nor helping with building up the country after they have devastated it. He thought Afghanistan and Iraq should just get on with it like Japan and Germany did.
He is a main reason the US has dropped to the bottom of the international popularity list!

We spent billions rebuilding Germany and Japan.

American infrastucture is crumbling, but we as a
nation are spending trillions on building

American Empire.

You have to see our massive inner-cities to
appreciate the growing poverty and resulting crime,
homelessness and hopelessness.

Our private prisons are thriving, our police depts
Look like fortified military squads, our military itself
is the most powerful and destructive in history.

Global climate change is threatening the planet,
Children are going hungry and living admidst drugs and rampant violence.

On a positive note, our corporations are thriving.

I agree that the Palestinian leaders need an overhaul big time.
I have two friends with daughters who studied Political Science and International Politics in the UK. One of them studied with a group of Palestinians and Jews from Palestine and Israel. They were funded by the Olive Tree Trust which provides funds from wealthy Jews and Palestinians in the UK. Projects like this are the way forward.
There is a programme on Palestine TV which is very like The Apprentice, but is called The President. Young students of politics present their ideas about the future and the successful one will be taken on board with the Current leadership. He will be followed and will be expected to say what he finds etc...
There is a deal of support for the young academics and the time for Abbas is almost over.
How about Israel? Not much evidence of change there, is there?
