Gerald Honigman has just published a major book, "QUEST FOR JUSTICE", the result of decades of study on the Middle east.

Jerry was denied a PhD because he was too pro-Israel. But he wasn’t daunted and went on to crown his years of study with this book rather than a PhD.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry seems to have invested in improving the quality of their online material. Wise move.

They have a very good site on the security fence, and now there's a Flash feature called Israel's Story in Maps. Check it out.

It's a tiny little country and you could walk across the width of it in a couple of hours or so at it's narrowest point...

Carl adn Katie Landers, some very dear friends of my family, went to Isreal many years ago....I'd say around the mid/late 80's.They really enjoyed their pilgrimige to Jerusalem and talked endlessly about how beautiful the countryside was. They went out into the surrounding country too and met some of the Palesinian people and had a fine visit with them.

They did run into some trouble while on a tour bus going from place to place. They were detained by some very unsavory arabs for quite awhile. They are Christians, and were mistreated by some heavily armed gentlemen.Fortunately,Carl and Katie are wonderful people, and were soon allowed to go on their way.

on the whole, they said their trip was very enlightening, both mentally and spiritually on several different fronts.

"Heavily armed gentlemen" would fit IDF, not the Arabs. Heavily armed barbarians would be a more fitting description of the blood-thirsty terrorists.
